Presidents and Their First Ladies: The Washingtons

Hear from America’s first first couple.

George Washington emerged from the Revolutionary War a hero – and the perfect candidate to lead America out from Great Britain’s shadow. As a Founding Father and this nation’s first president, he safeguarded our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Martha Washington sustained George’s valiant quests throughout their 40 years together. She proved to be his rock during countless battles with the Redcoats, as well as his anchor during the unremitting struggle to establish a more perfect union.

Meet the Wills, presidential reenactors.

Back by popular demand, William and Sue Wills return to John Knox Village of Central Florida, bringing us another of their innovative, theatrical presentations of a president and first lady. Their appearance as George and Martha Washington is a first for John Knox Village.

Join us! Learn how George and Martha Washington helped forge America into the beacon of hope it is today.
