Frequently asked questions about Life Care.

Monthly fees start at $2,433 and entrance fees start at $73,000. Included in that cost will be your residence; a dining plan; access to all amenities, services and community events; and access to our full continuum of long-term care.

If you outlive your resources for reasons outside of your control and are unable to pay your monthly service fee, you’re guaranteed a residence on our campus, and you’ll still be entitled to priority access to on-site health care.

If you have a long-term care insurance policy, you might be eligible to receive benefits if you need long-term care. Your policy may work hand in hand with Life Care and pay earned benefits directly to you – but you should consult your insurance carrier for specific details about your policy.

Because of the financial arrangements under which care is provided, a portion of your Life Care contract may be deductible as a prepaid medical expense. Please talk to your accountant or financial advisor about these tax advantages.

Good question; it can get confusing. Here are a few helpful definitions:

Continuum of care – As we age, our needs change. The continuum of care addresses this by offering more attentive levels of care as needs arise. John Knox Village offers a full continuum of care that includes assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, long- and short-term rehabilitation services, and Home Health Care.

CCRC, or continuing care retirement community – This is synonymous with “Life Plan Community.”

Life Care – Life Care is a financial arrangement offered at some communities that allows you to secure a continuum of care while still independent. This protects you from many of the rising costs of care outside your Life Plan Community.

Life Plan Community – A Life Plan Community offers independent living and the continuum of care, all on one campus. John Knox Village of Central Florida is a Life Plan Community.
