Nancy Crommett, Life Enrichment Coordinator, celebrated National Assisted Living week with our JKV Oak View Suites Assisted Living residents. “A Spark of Creativity” was the National theme; this gave Nancy the idea for hosting the “Celebrating Creativity” art show. The show was held September 13 at the back of the Grill, and participating Oak View Suites residents were present to discuss their collections and art work with an enthusiastic audience.
The following Oak View Suites residents participated:
- Julia Irwin – Collection of Fans from around the world
- Pat Pagano – Drawings, Decoupage, and Poetry
- Gloria Romano – Floral Arrangements
- Harry Sellards – Author of (5) Genealogy books (Over 2,500 copies sold)
- Beverly VanBuskirk – Needlepoint Embroidery
- Dorothy Vogt – Quilts
- Joan Waterson – Portrait Artist
Seven artists and crafters from independent living were also invited to participate:
- Luis Lacourt – Stained Glass
- Mary Jane Hench – Quilts
- Bob Dunham – Photography
- Glenn Foreman – Decorative Woodworking
- Pat Collins – Wood Burning, Photography, Origami
- Mary T. Clark – Artist
- Sally Fausnight – Needle Crafts
Nancy was delighted with the turnout of residents. “It was wonderful to see the JKV community come together for this special event. My residents are already looking forward to next year’s show!”
