Coronavirus Update
April 10, 2020 – 5:00 p.m.
Village-Wide Updates:
We have received notification that a staff member of Majestic Oaks has tested positive for COVID-19. Based on the employee’s work schedule, having not worked in greater than 10 days, we believe that our staff and residents are at low risk. We sought guidance from the county health department and they are in agreement with our mitigation strategies and have made no further recommendations at this time. All potentially impacted employees and residents along with their families have been notified. There are no other staff members or residents exhibiting any signs or symptoms of illness at this time. John Knox Village has anticipated and prepared for notification of a COVID-19 case. Our team is trained in the use of personal protective equipment, they understand the importance for avoiding cross-contamination and are following disinfecting protocols approved by the Center for Disease Control. We will share more information as it becomes available.
If you are not feeling well, regardless of the symptoms, please contact the resident nurse at extension 1407.
Please continue to wash your hands frequently and thoroughly. Avoid touching your face, and make sure to clean and wipe down frequently touched surfaces, and maintain a safe distance of 6 feet between you and others.
The CDC is recommending that when going out in public that you wear a face mask. When wearing a mask or face covering, make sure you can breathe through it, make sure it covers your nose and mouth, and if wearing a fabric face covering, make sure to wash it routinely in a washing machine.
Menus will now be posted for the following day’s meal services as well as the next three days service. The menu for the next day’s service will be posted to portal after 3:30 p.m. on the dining tab under “C”, “V” or “S” options. The next day’s menu will also be posted on KNOX TV and the menu phone line by calling 775-3840 extension 1311. Menus for the next 3 days of service will be posted as an attachment on the opening screen of the portal. You will not be able to place an order for any meals other than the next day’s/same day’s posted menu.
Tune in each week to KNOX TV at noon and 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for the Phyllis Dale show. This 30-minute musical medley will feature new arrangements each week.
