Coronavirus Update
June 4, 2020 – 4:00 p.m.
Village-Wide Updates:
John Knox Village of Central Florida currently has no other employees displaying signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The two employees we reported last week remain in quarantine.
We have had several employees who have tested negative for COVID-19 and are also being quarantined for 14 days.
No residents in independent living, assisted living, or skilled nursing are showing signs or symptoms of the virus.
The Agency for Health Care Administration performed an infection control survey at Majestic Oaks on June 3. No deficiencies were reported during the survey.
We are working to reopen the Beauty Shop, Fitness Center and Pool on June 10. Housekeeping and Maintenance will also resume on June 10. Dining will continue to be on a pick up basis until June 15. Dates are subject to change.
We ask you only leave the Village under the following circumstances while taking proper precautions of wearing a mask, social spacing and using alcohol gel to cleanse your hands.
- Scheduled doctor’s appointments
- Medical necessity
- Shopping for groceries
There should be no events which would not allow you to maintain social spacing. This includes refraining from playing cards or other activities with neighbors or other residents where you are unable to maintain appropriate social spacing of at least six feet apart.
We ask that you pay close attention to subtle changes in your condition. Any subtle changes need to be reported to the resident nurse at extension 1407.
Do not go out and expose yourself to other people. The most common reported conditions are a headache, cough, fever, and shortness of breath.
Inter-Village Transfers of residents from temporary to permanent units began this week. New resident move-ins will begin next week. Due to COVID-19 we are taking extra precautions for the move-in and move-out process. We will be scheduling and coordinating one move at a time due to the extra time that it is taking to maintain the health and safety of residents, staff and movers. All new residents will be isolated for the first 14 days after their move-in is complete.
Please continue to wash your hands frequently and thoroughly. Avoid touching your face, make sure to clean and wipe down frequently touched surfaces.
