Whether you prefer the great outdoors or the comfort of an air conditioned room, the residents of John Knox Village of Central Florida have a wide variety of events and activities to stimulate their mind, body and spirit.
Situated on 200 wooded acres, strolling through our serene park like setting is a great place to start. Particularly if you enjoy bird or butterfly watching. On any given day you might just run into the likes of a sand hill crane, Osceola turkey, or red tailed hawk as the Village has been named a bird sanctuary. Residents along several courts have also work diligently to turn their yards into butterfly sanctuaries. When in bloom they surely are a site to see.
Like any Florida community, John Knox Village has swimming facilities. But did you know our residents have two pools to choose from? Adjacent to the Centre’s Fitness Center the smaller of our two heated pools is home to Aqua Aerobics. Residents can join in on one of these resident-led fitness classes Monday through Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
For those that love to swim laps or just float, our latest aqua addition at the Jaques Clubhouse allows plenty of space for residents to do both. One end of the pool is roped off with dedicated swim lanes, while the rest is available for those that just want to float to cool off.
If planned fitness classes are more your style, our fitness centers (we have two!) host seven classes a day, five days a week ranging from Balance and Stretch to Latin Dance. Resident-led Tai Chi is available on the weekends. If you prefer, there are plenty of state-of-the-art equipment options to use on your own; or take advantage of personalized training. Our Fitness Coordinator, Talina, is always glad to help.
Want to practice your putt? We have a place for that. Our four-season putting green features 19 challenging holes. The beauty of our course is it allows you to determine your course.
Our Sportsplex and outdoor activities do not end at the pool and putting green. We would be remiss if we did not mention the popular shuffleboard, bocce, and croquet pitch.
If you like to have a ball playing tennis or pickle ball, we have two tennis courts and two dedicated pickle ball courts. Our tennis courts can also easily be converted to pickle ball should the need arise.
For those looking to escape the Florida heat and cool off indoors, there are plenty of opportunities there too. From regularly scheduled line and tap dancing, to card and board games, to world affairs discussion groups and sing a-longs, and specially planned concerts, you are sure to find something to do each and every day at John Knox Village.
