Hurricane Idalia’s squalls are overspreading portions of the lower Florida Keys and the southwestern coast of Florida. Hurricane conditions are expected along portions of the Gulf Coast tonight and Wednesday along with storm surges. Hurricane Idalia is currently located 130 miles west/northwest of the Dry Tortugas and 240 miles southwest of Tampa. Maximum sustained winds have reached 90 miles per hour. Hurricane Idalia is moving at 15 miles per hour.

- Wednesday Activities have been canceled out of an abundance of caution while we watch the storm’s path and wind probabilities.

- Curbside meals have been suspended for Wednesday, Aug 30.
- The following changes will take place on Wednesday:
- Grill will be open from 8 a.m. to noon
- SH Cranes will be serving a buffet from noon to 5 p.m.
- Bay will be closed
- There will not be a recycling pickup on Wednesday.
- We ask that all residents be cautious over the next 24 hours during the duration of the storm.

Hurricane Idalia Update – August 29, 2023 10 a.m.
Category 1 Hurricane Idalia continues to strengthen. Currently located approximately 135 miles west/southwest of the Dry Tortugas and 320 miles south/southwest of Tampa, Hurricane Idalia has maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour and is moving at 14 miles per hour.
Community Updates
- Please make sure to locate and test your strobe lights. Should your residence lose power and you need assistance, place the strobe light in your window or by your mailbox. Apartment residents, please place your strobe light on your front door if you need assistance. If you have not received a strobe light, please contact maintenance at ext. 3010 and one will be delivered to you. A demonstration of how to use your strobe light can be viewed on KNOX-TV channel 3.
